Fir Law Group was pleased to represent Ms. Mary Martin in civil rights litigation against the State of Oregon. Ms. Martin gathered a substantial amount of signatures for a petition to repeal an unpopular gas tax. When the tax was moved to the May 2026 ballot, she was deprived of the opportunity to submit a statement in the Voter’s pamphlet because of her financial status and disabilities. Fir Law group filed suit and the federal court granted our request for a restraining order and injunction against the Secretary of State. Ms. Martin’s argument was published in the Voter’s pamphlet.
